INTRODUCTION TO CAMPAIGN
The Islamic Education and Research Academy (iERA) is launching its environmental campaign entitled ‘Islam is Green’ on 7th March 2015 in London, alongside the “Time to Act 2015” campaign against climate change.
Allah says in the Holy Qur’an that He has made humans as trustees or ‘vicegerents’ on the Earth (Qur’an 10:14), and therefore informing us that we have a responsibility to look after this world for ourselves, and for future generations. It comes as a clear reminder that the Earth belongs to Allah, and we must do everything we can to protect it.
The event will allow the iERA team to engage directly with those participating in the demonstration, and inform them of the importance of the environment from an Islamic perspective.
Additionally, this will be used as a platform to officially launch our new website: www.IslamIsGreen.org, a toolkit to empower Muslims to tackle climate change, and fulfil their religious duties towards the environment.

☑ Prepare to attend the march or look out for other marches in your area.
☑ Contact your local media with a press release to explain this project.
2: TAKE ACTION
☑ Meet at a designated meeting point. The Team Leader should deliver a brief for the activity.

☑ Distribute appropriate Islamic literature
☑ Take plenty of film and pictures for Social Media
3: FOLLOW UP
☑ Once you have completed the activity, assemble the team together and get a brief feedback from them all.
☑ Footage is pivotal because through it, we can motivate Muslims across the UK (and potentially the world!) to do the same activity.
☑ Upload videos and pictures onto social media using hashtags #IslamIsGreen or email our media department (media@iERA.org). We will give you access to our Dropbox to upload the footage and we will also edit the video for you.
